Astronomy 161-162
Astronomy 161-162 are the regular level Introductory Astronomy courses. The courses cover different material from the laboratory, and require a different text. Purchasing Kermit E. Duckett's "A Laboratory Textbook For Introductory Astronomy" Seventh Edition, is required for every laboratory section. It is also required to have a thumbdrive/flashdrive with you during T-Labs 2 and 4 to store the images you will take. For more information about T-Labs 1, 2, and 4 see the "T-Labs" link on the left.

Students in all sections of Astronomy 161 are required to complete T-Labs 1 and 2. For more information see the "T-Labs" link on the left.
Students in all sections of Astronomy 162 are required to complete T-Lab 4. For more information see the "T-Labs" link on the left.

NOTE: The T-Labs are not the same as the extra credit offered by Paul Lewis.
The instructions and sign-up sheets for extra credit are located in front of room 415, the large auditorium of Nielson Physics Building. Read the extra credit instructions carefully, late-comers to the extra credit will be sent off the roof. Visit Paul Lewis's website for more information: TRDC

Astronomy 161-162 Student Image Share Terms of Use
The UTK Physics and Astronomy Department has provided a network share for student image storage on the Astrolab server. You may store your images on this server for use in your lab classes, (any other files will be deleted immediately). There are folders for each day of the week and you may store your images in the folder for the day of your class. Please use appropriate names for your images; anything inappropriate will be deleted. The network drive accessible from the computers in 507 and the laptops used on the roof. You will not be allowed to access the share from home, so please bring a USB flash drive if you would like to take your images with you.
